Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how OpenElse Agent uses storage technologies on this website.

1. Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website. If you accept analytics cookies, Google sets the following cookies: _ga (distinguishes users, persists 2 years) and _ga_[container-id] (maintains session state). These cookies collect anonymized usage data and a truncated IP address used for approximate geographic region. You can accept or reject analytics cookies via the consent banner. Rejecting will not affect website functionality. Note: OpenElse's own preferences (theme, language, settings) are stored in localStorage, not cookies.

2. Local Storage Items

The following data is stored in your browser's localStorage: your light/dark theme preference, your language preference, your AI configuration, your API keys (encrypted and never synced to cloud), your conversation history, sidebar state, and logging preferences. Additionally, Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_[id] cookies if you accept analytics.

3. Managing Your Data

You can clear all locally stored data at any time via your browser settings, or by using the "Clear all data" button in the Settings panel within the app.

4. Third-Party Services

When you interact with AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), those providers may set their own cookies or collect data according to their own policies. OpenElse does not control or have access to these third-party policies.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
